The Congregational Research Team welcomes you to this new Distance Education project which  continues the exploration of Mariology to  help provide a deeper integration of  our own understanding of our charism and its historical evolution.

Course Objectives
The object of  this course is to provide a background to Mary Potter's Mariological thought by  exploring the Mariology of the seventeenth through to nineteenth centuries. In  particular, It aims to explore the trends and developments in Mariology in England during the nineteenth century, and through an examination of historical resources texts, and the writings of the founder, to gain some insight into Mary  Potter's own Mariology. It is a project designed for on-going education for all  LCM Sisters, their Associates, families and friends.

Schedule
As a self-paced learning project, this course is not subject to time. We would, however, recommend that you take sufficient time to explore the questions and read the readings  provided.   How you decide to make use of it is up to you and your own time schedule. The course is divided into three - See below for the context of study

Each unit is provided with an overview and introduction to the particular unit theme, and readings particular to it. You are invited to read the documents provided and then move to the next section - that of discussing the issues raised.

This section of the web  provides questions for you to focus on particular issues each unit raises, and - if you wish - discuss these with others who have embarked upon this study. Your  discussion may take place within your community, or wider, through the use of  the FORUM or VOICE CHAT pages of this site.

In order to provide further  exploration of the theme of the unit, this section of the DE programme provides you with other readings or books on the particular topic, which you may like to  pursue in order to gain wider appreciation of the issues around the nineteenth century church and Mariology in particular.
